In the preantibiotic era, a technology called photo-oxidation that uses UV light was used very effectively in treating severe, advanced infections. Bisphenol A is found in plastic bottles and is carcinogenic. It is now ubiquitous. One of the problems in assessing the safety of chemicals is that we don't look at the cumulative effect of thousands of environmental toxins. Pradaxa is currently the only FDA approved drug that inhibits factor Xa and seems to have significant advantages over Coumadin. Direct to consumer ads are misleading and often outright lies. The only countries in the world allowing these ads are the US and New Zealand.
